An abandoned building. I wasn't sure at first because of the foil in the windows and other signs of presence, but then I looked up at the power pole and realized the transformer that served this building had been disconnected.

@Johnny: Thanks. I ran it through Photomatix and then tweaked the midtones in Photoshop. I've been out of town the past couple of days, but maybe in the next couple of days I can post, on Flickr, the original raw image alongside this final image posted here, for comparison. If I do, I'll leave a link here.
I like this; a very interesting composition -- the old house's lines and textures, the clouds puffy and their textures peeking out from behind.

@Viewfinder: Thank you. I saw what looked to be some damaged or abandoned structures from the highway and drove up a narrow back road to check it out. After taking photos of some damaged grain silos I walked over to this house and this shot struck me as being better than what I'd actually stopped to photograph.
cool picture .....I wouldn't assume that someone is not living there because of the transformer though ..... love the old feeling I get from the photo

@RoBeRt: Thanks. I was still cautious of course, but the fuse on the high voltage side of the pole mounted transformer was open. This is what the electric company usually does on these country places where no one else is served off the same transformer. Of course, there could still be someone living there, or using the place, without electricity.
The sky is brilliant , love the blue colour of the house too :)

@MaryB: Thank you.
I love all the shades of blue...well done! Good eye to see this shot...sometimes the simplest are the hardest to see!

@shar: Thank you. I guess I'm partial to the colors too. It was one of those rare occasions when the clouds line up with an object the way I want.
it looks like a tinny house to me bet if you went inside you'd find some interesting plants lol its a great shot though ! well done

@Amanda: Thank you. Looks can be deceiving though. It's actually fairly good sized. This corner is on the second floor. I'd guess it to be at least 1,800 square feet of living space between the two floors, maybe more.
