A Day by the Bay Image 1
The following series was taken around Port O'Conner, Texas. Here, sea gulls hover, and a pelican sits, ready to pounce on the cast offs of fishermen cleaning the day's catch. Porpoises and many more pelicans swarm in the water below (not pictured).

@Josh: I just consider hdr to be one method for translating the difference in dynamic range between reality and whatever medium is used for capture. I could have used a flash here, but until recently all I had was the on-camera flash and I'm not particularly fond on the concentrated lighting that flash ordinarily produces. However, now that I have my SB800 I do plan on experimenting more with flash (especially when I've got a couple SB600's to add to the mix).
