Motel sign, Cuero, Texas. I passed by this sign many times telling myself that some night I needed to stop and take a photo. There is something about this sign that I like. Partly, I guess, it's the design and the look. And then there is the impression the string of year-round Christmas lights gives: either that no one bothers to take them down; or that they were put there because the "Motel" no longer lights itself, and putting up these lights was easier or cheaper than repairing the sign. I don't know what the real reason is; maybe this sign wasn't even designed to light up.

Grat shot 12. I like it because it is absolutely "tacky" and a "so very real to life" representation of certain parts of every city and town -- the parts that wouldn't likely be featured in a Fodor's Guide.
