There was a time for small Texas towns when restaurants like this one, independent and family owned, were the only restaurants. Chain restaurants, like those that predominate the landscape today, were few and far between, with one exception: the ubiquitous small town Texas chain called Dairy Queen.

Yep, they're changing. I know of one in Aledo. west of Ft. Worth, where the character restaurant (best burgers in Texas) is housed in a Shamrock gas station.

@DeWane: I don't get up to the Fort Worth area much. Nice studio and portrait work; btw, I couldn't get the "Art" section of your site to display. Everything else worked though, so I don't know if it's my browser or what.
Nice HDR!

@shar: Thank you. I have to look you up on the community page to see your latest as your name link doesn't seem to be working for me.
Where else can you get a Taco Dog? Good HDR.

@Stickle: Thank you. I see from your photos that you use hdr as well. Some people like it, some people don't. some people might have preferred the straight shot, more or less, but this image just didn't work for me without hdr. And btw, I have no idea what a taco dog is.
