The combined cycle generating plant near Nursery, Texas. The blue pipe in the foreground is a circulating water pipe --water used for cooling the heated steam in the steam generation part of the combined cycle. This is one of those frustrating images that just can't be quite duplicated in print and looks defiantly better on the monitor. Try as I might I cannot duplicate the luminosity in the blue of the circulating water pipe and keep the rest of the image in balance.

@Johnny Soedomo: Thank you.
Is this an HDR? did you use bracketing to get such dynamic range? cool

@Amir: Yes on hdr. This was actually my first try with bracketed RAW captures. Often I merely use one original adjusted for highlights and shadows. The main reason for this is because setting up a tripod obviously requires more time and effort. (However, I have found that if a scene has no movement and I set my camera to bracket and shoot in burst mode, and I brace myself carefully, Photomatix is usually able to align the shots --assuming of course that shutter speed is relatively fast.)
Here I used a tripod and bracketed three shots: metered, plus two, minus two.
Nice shot !

@See The Light: Thank you. It still kills me though that I can't get a print to duplicate the look on the monitor. The limits of the medium.
