I don't know, the dog may enjoy this. Personally, I think it's dangerous for the dog. In a accident, even a fender bender, the dog will probably be killed or seriously injured. If you won't your kids ride in the back of the truck like this, I don't think you should let your dog. The thing is, there had to be a law telling people not to let their kids ride in the back of a pickup truck.

It's very dengarous indeed. only careless/loveless people put their pets in the back of a truck. Do they put their loved human ones in the back? Needless to say that I have seen people in the back of trucks, crusing 80 ml/h in the freeway here in Texas.
I was also surprised that the laws in other states are constantly being violated in Texas. e.g. riding bike with out helmet and proper outfit is fine here. Wonder why?
Great work dude.

@Amir: Since I don't ride a motorcycle and haven't kept up with the law, I don't know what the current law is in this state, but it's possible there is no helmet law. I know there was and is opposition to it. And do people put their loved ones in the back of a truck --absolutely. There were a number of tragic accidents where people in the back of a pickup were shot all over the highway in a collision; and that was partially what motived the law against passengers in the back of a truck --or at least minor passengers.
There are a lot of laws that are necessary solely because of stupidity. There shouldn't have to be a law that you don't put passengers in the back of a pickup truck, especially children. Unfortunately, many people seem unable to make judgments about appropriate and reasonable risks. They don't think they are going to get in an "accident," so they don't think there is any risk in having someone ride in the pickup bed.
