I didn't know what I was going to post today until I read JoeB's comments from yesterday. I had originally considered posting these shots in both B&W and color, but was leaning against duplicating the previous shots with color versions. Today's shot is a color duplicate. Tomorrow's shot will be a color shot similar to the first shot --Bus Stop 1-- but from a little different perspective.
Today's color shot is different from the B&W version not only in the obvious way --by being in color-- but also in what elements of the image have emphasis. Of course, I could have fixed the B&W shot to mimic the same elements of emphasis as in the color shot by bringing out parts of the image that become more obscure in B&W --such as the tree seen through the open door in this shot-- but ultimately I decided that while the color version may be a worthwhile guide to B&W conversion, the B&W version shouldn't merely be the closest possible grayscale rendition of the color image.

The tree trunk that appears within the doorway is very nice. Beautiful. Are these HDR by any chance?

@Amir: I used the hdr plug-in in Photoshop (Elements) --and kept the effect subtle.
Somebody took out the engine! C'mon you got to love the colour. Have you got a full shot of the bus? Thanks for all your comments I'm going to get to them.

@JoeB: I do love the color. In fact, the first image I processed was the Wednesday close up of the front side door, and I decided it didn't work in B&W. It was only recently, while preparing some images for posting here, that I decided to try B&W on some of the others. I almost hate to admit it, but I do find that I am leaning towards the color versions myself.
I like the colour, but I'm a big fan of colour photo's. That poor old bus has seen better days, but someone might put it back on the road one day...you never know

@Richard_Irwin: I love B&W, but I think it's a choice. I lean towards color as the default, but I think there are images that work better in B&W, and some that work as different interpretations. I also think there is a corollary: some images that work only because they're in color.
Great series of shots on this old rustic bus. I prefer the color version.

@Barbara: Thank you; and thanks for your input. You've got a lot of great shots on your blog. I especially love the image of the Cardinal on your "About Barbara" page.
Interesting colors!
