I stayed in the car so I wouldn't spook them and tried not to hang around too long. Still, I was apparently there long enough to make them nervous, as seen in this shot, where they are beginning to stir.

Do they live among people? I am asking because there are man-made stuff in their proximity

@Amir: These are wild deer. That was the strange part. The stuff you're seeing in the background is the backyard of the neighboring house. They are actually in an unfenced yard on the corner. Looking in their direction is a residential neighborhood running for several blocks. Across the street, in my direction as photographer, is a river and a large area of undeveloped land.
I see wild deer all the time, as I alluded to in other comments, but usually not this close to human habitation, and virtually never in the afternoon heat of a summer day. They usually come out in the early morning or late evening, or at night, and usually during the Fall-Winter-Spring time frame. After I took this shot and started to drive off I saw more deer crossing the road from the river side. There was probably something affecting their normal habitat that I don't know anything about.
