I like the looming light as the landing pad. I got an e-mail from File Magazine, I saw the shot , thanks again for the suggestion.

@JoeB: If I recall correct, he was actually taking off, though I admit is looks like a landing.
Great timing!

@Eleftheria, 9 years old,: The timing is a lot easier when your camera can shoot 3 frames per second.
wow, this is when zoom lens comes to rescue. Very crisp, very focused and very beautiful with that motion freeze of bird taking off. I also appreciate your kind comments regarding my humble work

@Amir: Yes, I was experimenting with my cheapo telephoto. I does a pretty good job under the right conditions.
Very nice. I like how you've framed this.

@Helen: Thank you.
I like the title. Nice. That is one thing that disgusts me to no end.... Bird Poop!! LOL
Great shot of the seagulls, though.

@The Gadget Lady: Thank you. This is in Palacious, a little town on the bay, and the sea gulls have left signs of their presence at many locations.
I hope you didn't park your car under that street light.

@Bob: This street light is actually on a pier where cars are not allowed, so it's not possible.
Fantastic capture. Perfect timing.

@Gary: As I said to Eleftheria, the timing is made easier when your camera shoots 3 fps. I think the new Nikon 300D shoots 9 fps. I've got my eye on it, though at the price it goes for it may be awhile before I actually get my hands on one.
Wonderful catch of the action!
