@Gary: I had to play with that a little bit, but I knew I didn't want those signs in the background left overwhelming the image. In fact, though I saw this image in B&W from the start, the darker of the two signs is a bright red in color, so I just about had to go to B&W here. Then I was playing around with the Nik Efex filters after the B&W conversion and stumbled across a vignette filter I felt improved the image.
Very effective treatment on this image!

@Shar: Thank you, see my response to Gary for more details on the treatment, which was about 75% planned and about 25% fortuitous.

@melodee: Funny, I don't know what this building is, or was, or why it has this elephant. It doesn't appear to be a business --anymore at least-- and someone appears to be living there.
