I don't know about this one; I had mixed feelings about posting it. It's been done before and seems kind of ordinary, but on the on hand, I kind of like it. In the summer here, and well beyond, webs like this one built by spiders like this one, are walking hazards below any tree limb that crosses a side walk or path. After wearing a number of these webs in the process of walking my dog or just taking out the trash, that doesn't surprise me anymore. However, I still get a big surprise when, on occasion, I walk well around an obvious web location, to clear sky, where there are no tree limbs or other support structures available for web attachment, and still end up with web clinging fiercely to my face and arms.

@leslie: Thank you. My dog always seems to avoid them even though he's walking in front of me, but I find myself wearing them all to often even when I'm paying attention.
Nice capture - and such a large web! Can't imagine how awful it would be to walk into this one!

@martie: They were all over this field. This was one of many. What's worse is that I always walk into them at night, when there is more play for the imagination --and I always wonder where the spider is.
super!:)

@melodee: Thank you.
I have never seen such a beautiful spider web shot, amazingly detailed

@Amir: Thanks. That's 10 MP for ya. Scanning some of my old shots with my new 4000 DPI film scanner I'm finding that my digital SLR produces far more detail than a typical frame of 35mm film.
I like this shot. It is far from ordinary. The spider web is magnificent and so is the background.

@kairospix: I thought about that at the time. In fact, I think is tried various zooms and decided I liked this composition best --one reason being that a closer shot makes the image more about the spider than the web. The thought crossed my mind that the shot I'd really like would have a big visible spider, but with the entire web visible like it is in this version. What I should have done, perhaps, is zoom in on the spider and do some kind of insert into this shot of the web using Photoshop.
I don't think it is ordinary at all! I like your shot - thanks for sharing the 'story' with us!

@Eleftheria, 9 years old,: Yes, your spider looks more ferocious. Thank you for stopping by.
