After Lunch

Taken in downtown Houston after the lunch hour. The woman on the phone in the back ground was the subject of of another post, from a different perspective, awhile back.

Nice to see it from two different perspectives. One can form a mental 3D image from the combination of two. By the way, I really appreciate your kind words about Fort Worth thing and my pictures. Fort Worth is an OK little city, but if some one gets excited about it by just looking at my images, even if unlikely, it would be my pleasure.

I like the umbrellas. And tilting the camera kind of made it balance for some reason. Nice candid.

@Gary: Looking at my photos after the fact I think I don't tilt the frame enough. Level, this shot was so static I felt impelled to tilt my camera.

Do the women find the man's conversation more facinating than the one they could have?

@JoeB: I'd flip it around and ask, does the man find his phone conversation more important than the conversation he could be having with the women who are actually in his presence? It seems to me that actuality should always preempt potentiality. If I'm with someone I don't answer the phone. A phone, and most especially the odious cell phone, is for my convenience, it is not my boss or my shackle. Yeah, yeah, yeah, we always hear the feeble excuse, it could be an "emergency" --it's never an emergency. I'd interpret the scene this way: these people were having a conversation and this guy's cell phone rang. These phone addicts we see everywhere now HAVE to answer their phones. He MUST be an IMPORTANT man since his cell phone is ringing. Everyone else must wait and accept their subordination with the awe a cell phone is supposed to inspire.
