Back again to the days of film. I may have my Scottish locales mixed up, it's been a long time, but I believe I took this one in Edinburgh (note, I previously placed this as being in Holy Loch, but reviewing my Sunday image, I realized I had probably taken this one on the same trip).

@Amir: The thing about my film days is that when I was shooting a lot, like here (when I was in another country), I'd get some pretty good images. When the events in my life settled into a more quotidian phase and my shooting opportunities dwindled, my "photo sense" melted away like snow on a hot afternoon. This effect was amplified by the characteristics of "film" --the expense of the film and processing at a minimum, along with the usually very delayed feedback, and time in the darkroom. What's the old joke about how you get to Carnegie Hall? Practice, practice, practice. Back then, practice was sort of a luxury, and pre-internet it was even harder to learn the technical aspects of what you were doing.
The variety of reds is just great.

@JoeB: Scotland is full of fantastic color --or at least it was back then.
Aw, heck, you're making me nostalgic now! :)

@Carson: Would that be for film, faraway places, or your youth?
