Another blast from the past. This one has been published in print media several times. It was published in the US Naval Institute Proceedings magazine and they also made it into a promotional poster (the magazine printed it right, however, the colors were way off in the poster). Some time later I got a check in the mail when it was used in some little paperback book called "The World's Winners" (if I remember correctly) --a book about winning various contests around the world.

Nicely done and congrats on being published and always nice to get a cheque to help fund the next photography related purchase, right?

@Shar: It was a long time ago, but yes, it was great --not that much money though. May sound funny, but the most money I've made taking photos, money that really did fund photo related purchases, was taking portraits at Jr. High School dances. Some 15 years ago I could clear as much as $800 from one dance --there just weren't that many dances.
Well done! Superb shot.

@Aaron Schmidt: Thank you --but I can't really claim credit for a timely capture. This image is actually two transparencies sandwiched together. Originally, back in my film days, I printed the "sandwich" directly using the old Cibachrome process. Both frames are mounted together, and here I just scanned it as a single transparency.
Wow - this is terrific!
