Power Plant, Early Morning

I like the way this plant looks on a cold morning, but there is no place to pull over in order to park and take a photo, so I did what we occasionally see Amir (The Persian King) do on his blog: I shot through the window of my car while driving.

@Daroru: Thank you. I was trying to duplicate the light I saw but I think the window of the car has somehow affected the image --especially contrast.

Cool industrial shot - I like the graininess and the yellow of the lines against the blue sky. Well done from the moving car mate!

Good job shooting throught the windshield. You cant even tell. Plus it's well composed.

@Gary: Thanks. Probably the most difficult thing about shooting through the window with this camera while driving is the long shutter lag. It especially makes timing difficult.

The colour is good, the smoke is almost like a cloud in the sky. One hand on the wheel one hand on the camera?

@JoeB: Actually, both hands at the top of the wheel with the camera in between. I thought it was bright enough that I'd be ok on shutter speed, but the long shutter lag and focusing delay of this camera makes timing difficult.

well done. I can never get that whole "driving and shooting" thing down... which is just as well... I'd probably run into an ice cream truck... nice shot...

@greg: Thanks. I'm not saying I didn't stray dangerously close to the edge of the road. Though, I'm not saying I did, either.

@TravBoy: Thanks. Had to fight the urge to do it again today. This shot was made on a still morning, today the wind was blowing the vapor from the cooling towers across to the generators on the left, for a little different look.
