@danthro: Thanks. The composition is pretty much fixed for this one (not much room to crop I think), but I'm not quite satisfied with the B&W conversion; I'm still searching for a better method. Ian put me on to some new conversion options with PSE 5 that I intend to try (I currently have PSE 4). I still can't make up my own mind about whether I like the composition. I'd be interested in hearing how you think the next day's color version compares --including compositionally.

@Gary: French cafe, I wish. I think the woman top right does have a little bit of a European/French look about her; and the outside architecture does not seem typically American. In fact, one of the reasons I started shooting in this direction was due to that band of lights around the building top right. Still, this is a pretty nice place with a very compelling atmosphere.

@JoeB: It's basically a yuppie clothing store and a yuppie coffee shop in an upscale part of Austin --with a Vespa dealer around the corner to the left. I was holding the camera with both hands, elbows braced on the table, and I probably took 5-10 shots for every shot that was sharp enough to be usable.
