Surfing Munich

Posted by Twelvebit (Victoria, United States) on 4 February 2008 in Lifestyle & Culture.

Let's go surfing now, everybody's learning how, even in downtown Munich. I don't know what this is --some kind of drainage or irrigation canal, rain water runoff? But these guys found a good break --or one good enough to surf, in what amounts to something like a stationary swimming pool for surfers. Where I used to live in California they had a place called Ski-Tow. It was an oval water track where skiers were pulled along on overhead cables like trolley cars --right in the middle of the desert. You had to pay of course. These guys found their surfing equivalent and it's free.
