Oktoberfest

I tried drinking a mug of beer served in one of the beer halls, in its entirety, and it finished me for the rest of the day. During the time I took this one mug into oblivion I saw guys downing two or three of them and still walking around. I don't know, it all seemed so real and incredible, but maybe it was some kind of trick to fool the stupid American tourist.

Hi 12 bit, it is truely incredible, how some people can drink several of those 1 or even 1,5 liter pints in one hour. Great colourfull shot, despite of the light coming from the front. Beautiful detail. Well-captured atmosphere.

@the lightwriter: Thank you. Clearly I was not going to drink anyone there under the table. I didn't even finish my beer before I staggered out.

@Babul Bhatt: The guys I saw drinking didn't strike me as the kind of guys who'd welcome --or even tolerate-- having their photo taken (nearly all guys, by the way, though it was still early in the afternoon when we were in the beer hall).

i like this shot, interesting composition, just the color of some of the clouds looks weird, greenish, is that smog or something else?

@danthro: I don't think there was any smog. I think it was just the direction of the light and time of day. However, I made no attempt to color correct this photo because I liked the way it looked.

Very nice image of the festival. I like the glow to it. Perhaps some processing, either way it is excellent.
Your caption had me laughing. I guess that is how they can spot the tourists.

@Barbara: Thank you. My processing options were somewhat limited by this being such a low resolution image with little bit depth. The camera was capable of more resolution but severely limited in memory. I had a slew of 8 MB memory cards, but they seem a joke now that I'm using a 4 GB card and can take something like 400 RAW 10 MP images.
