First, let me thank those of you who have been making comments this week. I haven't been able to respond or look at anyone's work, but hope to catch up on that this weekend.
It's rare I find a building like this where I can walk around and take photos without fear of earning a trespassing charge.

Wow, a building in such a state is just so sad. It makes you wonder what memories were in there.

@farmermarn: There were hooks in the ceiling like I've seen in an Andrew Wyeth painting, so I think this was some kind of meat supplier.
this is a perfect example why abandoned sites are a joy to photograph. there's so much going on in this photograph, not to miss the two oil drums framed by the door on the right. due to the state of our economy, unfortunately, we'll be seeing more buildings in this condition in the days ahead. very good documentary and artistic photograph.

@Mortola: I'd love to get into more abandoned places --I've seen some very interesting urban exploration sites featuring places like this on the net --but on the few occasions I stumble across a good site, they usually require some serious trespassing to explore. I'm just too afraid of the cops these days to put myself in a situation that risks any kind of confrontation with someone who is likely to have a little brain and a big ego.
