@Ana Lúcia: Thank you.
Really amazing. Did someone tamper with the sign deliberately? great capture.

@Michael Skorulski: Not so far as I know --I just shot it the way I saw it. I think the sign had been more or less "abandoned" and the letter "B" just eventually fell down --you can see the top of it between the "D" and the "L".
A home made sign that has seen better times, the top has been removed was the previous owner bitter over the sale of the building or is it just a religeous comment.

@JoeB: I don't know about Canada, I rather suspect you don't see a lot of signs that say "God Bless Canada," but around here, signs that say "God Bless America" are all over the place. In fact, I doubt you can drive for much more than a mile in any direction without seeing this phrase on a sign or a bumper sticker.
That is a classic one - just begging to be photographed. A nice ironic bit of photo-commentary.

@Daroru: The only problem I have with images like this one --lettering on a sign-- is that digital photography and Photoshop reduce their credibility. You could make the sign say anything in Photoshop, yet the impact of an image like this one is entirely dependent upon it being "found" and unaltered --and there is no way to communicate an assurance that it hasn't been altered.
You've got a great photographic eye and this is a fantadtic find....it desrves to be published.

@Ian Bramham: Thanks. I have been lazy about seeking avenues for publication. So far I've only submitted images to JPG Mag and File Mag.
great capture. more substantive than the average photoblog shot. i'm not sure if it would add to it but i'm curious what your thoughts are on vignetting.

@danthro: Didn't think of it for this particular image. In general, I think every technique has it's particular applications. However, I try not to use any particular technique unless I think the image calls for it, or "overuse" any particular style. I'd use vignetting if I thought it added something but it's not a technique I'm inclined to use very often.
great documentary photo. you're right, anyone could make a sign say anything using photoshop, it's lamentable. i remember when i was living in Oklahoma seeing signs like this almost everywhere, not here in SoCal, just billboards for strip clubs and casinos and they're maintained really well.

@Mortola: I used to live in Oklahoma too. Every Dairy Queen and Pizza Hut had this on their sign. I think there is something simultaneously naive and jingoistic about this sentiment.
such a great capture what luck and what a good idea to take the photo.

@lucie: Thank you. I read your profile. Fortunately, we didn't completely miss the digital age. I too have about 30 years of photos that didn't have much of an outlet back in the day.
