@Ronnie 2¢: Thanks. This suggested a kind of Frankenstein laboratory to me at the time.
Perhaps the answer is not "42" but 3B MCC? Lots of knobs at this cabinet, interesting shot, makes me curious.

@MadScientist: MCC stands for motor control center, the 3B for the electrical bus that feeds it power.
