The detail of his pointy scales(?) and soft colour reveal him quite well. The lizard is keeping a sharp eye on you.

@JoeB: I guess you call them scales. They're not rounded like they are on the typical lizard you see around here. His back and his head look more like a horned toad than the typical lizard.
by the way, just out of curiosity, what's a stop down button?

@danthro: Thanks for your comments. It's a button, usually on the bottom front of the camera just below and to the side of the lens, that physically operates the lens diaphragm (closing it to the selected stop/aperture), and allowing you to see what part of the image is in focus (a real physical check on the actual DOF).
Not everyone will agree but, to me, this is a beautiful creature. Wow .

@Ronnie 2¢: I think so too. I especially like that he looks something more like an alligator or horned toad that he does the usual lizard we see around the house. You can see it in this shot because the focus is so narrow, but he has some wonderful little toenails/claws.
i like the saturation of the colors on this pic ! Great macro

@jean-sebastien: Thank you. Technically, it isn't a "macro" as the in-camera image was not enlarged at a 1:1 or greater ratio --I just cropped the frame.
