I couldn't resist this juxtaposition. If the sign in the background isn't quite clear in this image, it should be to anyone who looked at yesterday's shot.

@Daroru: It's sort of a lie by omission since it suggests that dog excrement affects the water supply differently than other kinds of excrement or contaminants. I'm sure there is a lot more human feces than dog feces in the water entering the water treatment plant.

@Observing: I don't imagine it's treated any different than any other water. Realistically, ALL water is recycled through a water treatment plant. That includes the water referred to by the sign, as well as the water from people's dirty dishes and flushed toilets. The typical municipal water supply includes trace elements of practically every drug known to man, particularly those prescription drugs that people flush down the toilet.

@danthro: You'd be able to read the sign in the background at a little higher resolution. This reduced sized image is considerably softer than the original ever after sharpening.

It seems maybe their trying to scare people into picking up after their dogs. She seems too thirsty to worry about the sign. Coke takes tap water then filters it and sells it as Dasani.
