@Ana Lúcia: Thank you. Betty from New Jersey, United StatesWonderful sharpness! Excellent light, nice composition! 27 Apr 2008 1:14pm @Betty: Thanks. Given the time of day, the lighting for most things was rather stark, and it made this shaded scene rather compelling. Observing from Chester, United KingdomI love this shot 12bit. The colors of the house nestled within the trees and the shade is great. Some images just jump at you. 27 Apr 2008 1:55pm @Observing: This one actually did pop out at the time. It was just past noon so the light wasn't particularly good for most things, and it made this shaded area really stand out. Amir from Tehran, IranI was very busy and not in the mood to post. I felt overwhelmed and exhausted by day to day life. Not to say that I have totally recovered, but improved. Nice to be back and thanks for visiting pal. Nice images you have posted ever since. 27 Apr 2008 3:39pm @Amir: I know what you mean. Many times I have felt "why bother" and have only been carried through on inertia. Lionel Goutay from Montreuil sous bois, FranceCela donne envie d'y habiter. Un retour aux sources ..... 27 Apr 2008 4:59pm @Lionel Goutay: Bien, vous pourriez le prendre probablement à un prix d'occasion. @Alun Lambert: Thanks. I did boost the saturation a little though. @Marie: Merci. @Daroru: I think so, but I didn't get close enough to be sure. JoeB from Brampton, CanadaThe red is framed by all the green, very vibrant. I wonder about the history of such a house. 27 Apr 2008 11:16pm @JoeB: I don't know. One possibility is that they boarded up for a hurricane, and being by the river, got flooded from all the rain, and didn't bother to come back. Or, maybe they got flooded out and just boarded it up and left. Or, perhaps someone older was living here, and died, and it has just been abandoned. I guess another possibility is that the owners don't live there year round and board it up when they're gone to deter vandalism and theft. Mortola from SoCal, United Stateswindows boarded up, how eerie. wonder if "Leatherface" is residing in there. 28 Apr 2008 8:15am @Mortola: There are a lot of houses around here that look like they could be harboring a "Leatherface." And I pass by quite a few BBQ joints where I can't keep the TCM out of my mind when thinking about their menus. Melissa W. from Warsaw, Indiana, United StatesFirst off, the red and green contrast...wow. Gorgeous color without looking over-saturated. Great composition. Well done! 28 Apr 2008 4:30pm @Melissa W.: I did use Capture NX to darken the house a little and boost saturation. And for balance I also brought the trees on the top half of the frame up a little and the foreground down quite a bit. danthro from Suburbia, United Statesnice. i really like the light. how you captured it on the trees and grass especially. nice bright colors. makes the place look so good it took me a while to notice it was boarded up 28 Apr 2008 11:53pm @danthro: I did have to make some adjustments. I brought the foreground and house down a little and the trees up a little for balance. |
