Shrimp Boats

Taken while wandering around my favorite place to be: on or among boats and ships floating in salt water. Unfortunately beachcomber and sailor (of sailboats --as opposed to commercial or naval vessels) are not particularly well paid occupations.

Additionally I would say that this job is less amusing during hurricane season...

@MadScientist: These days they should get enough warning to get into port and out of the way. I haven't heard of any shrimp boats being caught out in a hurricane for as long as I can remember --no Wolfgang Petersen "Perfect Storm" dramas around here. It's interesting to read how back in the early part of the 20th century, when Galveston was destroyed by a hurricane and some 10,000 killed, people were working right up to the time when the tide rose up, and with the wind, cut off their escape over the only causeway connecting the town with the mainland.
