Melanie Daniels: I keep telling you, this isn't 'a few birds'! These are gulls, crows, swifts...!

Mrs. Bundy, elderly ornithologist: I have never known birds of different species to flock together. The very concept is unimaginable. Why, if that happened, we wouldn't stand a chance! How could we possibly hope to fight them?

great shot, in the uk its now discouraged to feed the gulls, because thay have started to attack people for food.

@Alun Lambert: No offense, but isn't everything being discouraged in the UK these days? I worry about whatever goes on there because if it's bad, it's bound to happen here sooner or later (we never pick up on any of the good things, except maybe in copying TV shows). Not that discouraging gull feeding is necessarily a bad thing.

@Namaki: Thanks. weird exif data. Why it just doesn't report the shutter speed as 1/2000 is beyond me.

love the accompanying quote from afred hitchcock's 'the birds' and love your shot as well. and i must add that this shot is amazingly sharp considering you had moving subjects! what's your secret?

@dj.tigersprout: Thanks. In this case, a relatively wide angle lens and very high shutter speed --apparently, according to the exif data, 1/2000 of a second (at ISO 400 --what I normally keep this camera set for).

I think that the world has imported to much of America´s bad ways if you ask me,Gun violence,drugs,gang warfare,paranoid attitudes to anything foreign and realy bad sports.Lets hope the UK doesn´t copy the usa too much....

@Anthony Lambert: I couldn't agree more. Not a sports fan actually, but about all the rest. One of the worst things possibly happening in the UK is the adoption of US militaristic policing methods. Personally, I like seeing the cops in the UK walking around without guns --last time I was over there.

And when I travel to another country, I don't want to go to some mini-USA or USA-imitator: the whole point of travel is to experience something different. I really like the UK. I've been there several times and I spent a lot of time in Scotland during my Navy days.
