Hotel Room Window

@dj.tigersprout: Yes and no. There is a certain intimacy and voyeuristic aspect, but what I find interesting is the sense of vulnerability and trust that sleeping like this in front of a window suggests. In a way, this is more intimate than standing naked in front of the window.

@MadScientist: Thanks. I'm familiar with that image and I have a book of Magritte paintings. I think of him as sort of a still version of Tati --especially when it comes to films like Trafic and Playtime.

@JoeB: Well, I'd be a Peeping Tom if I got on private property to take a photo through a window, or tired to exploit a crack in a curtain --but leaving your curtains open in a very public space like a hotel is almost like advertising. Still, even under the same circumstances, I probably wouldn't post a more revealing photo --at least not one where the person could be recognized-- unless the person in it was aware that a photo was being taken and either accepted it, or gave no indication of objection.

@Observing: I went into my room and my wife asked if I was ready to take a walk along the river.

@Daroru: I was probably standing around taking photos for about five minutes. In addition to this image, and several shots at the rooms depicted in yesterday's image, I also took several photos of the lobby area way down below me.

@Melissa W.: I missed my chance yesterday for a Hitchcock reference, in spite of the very obvious visual connection to "Rear Window." You know, Hitchcock even had the Rear Window set created so that the windows had the same aspect ratio as the projected film image --a symbolic reference to the shared voyeurism of Jimmy Stewart and the movie audience.

@danthro: I doubt it --the think twice party anyway. I believe the people in this room and the one adjacent were "together," and the guys in the adjacent room were watching me and inviting me to take photos of them in their room. And don't get me wrong, if attractive females want to leave their curtains open and parade around their rooms un, or scantily, clad, I'm all for it.

@Persian King: It's actually just one person taking a nap --with sandals still on. I actually replied to the wrong comment. There was no link with the other comment where you agreed and said also "here."
