@Ekaputra Tupamahu: Thank you. @Denis P: Merci beau coup. @Matt Sutton: Thanks for looking and commenting. dj.tigersprout from San Bruno, United Statesbrilliant shot mate -- so powerful, love the 'distressed' look... perfectly composed! marvelous! 1 Jul 2008 8:24am @dj.tigersprout: A lot of bondo up front. Tomorrow's shot may explain why it's immobile. MadScientist from Düsseldorf, GermanyLooks like a truck in its natural habitat. Strange to see an expensive device like this just being left alone in the wild... 1 Jul 2008 10:00am @MadScientist: Tomorrow's shot may explain it. Hey, BTW, is you liked ISO 3200, check out the specs on the new Nikon D700: A standard ISO range of 200-6400, and an extended ISO range of ISO 100-25,600, in 1/3 step increments up to ISO 12,800. @djedfre: Thanks. @MahGol: Thank you. @Stefan: Thank you. @crafts: Thank you. Thanks for commenting. Francesc B. from région parisienne, FranceVery beautiful B&W... I like this truck. 1 Jul 2008 5:00pm @Francesc B.: Merci beau coup. danthro from Suburbia, United Statesgreat shot! love the tones. great point of view and light and vignette too. 1 Jul 2008 5:19pm @danthro: Thanks. JoeB from Brampton, CanadaLooks pretty impressive, to the point that it might start up but that's not the reason that it's sitting in a field. 1 Jul 2008 6:13pm @JoeB: Wait until you see the other side tomorrow --then you'll know why it's in a field. @gbe: Thank you. Helma from Tehran, IranAmazing shot !! very good b&w photo !! Great capture ... excellent ! 1 Jul 2008 8:15pm @Helma: Thank you. @Observing: Thanks. Eric Fry from Houston, TX, United StatesVery good composition, and great b&w treatment! Who would have thought that there would be an abandoned dump truck in Texas??? ;) 1 Jul 2008 8:46pm @Eric Fry: Thanks. My job has me traveling the roads to Austin quite a bit. Sometimes to San Antonio, sometimes to Houston. I'm always seeing good stuff to photograph along the road, but I'm usually in too much of a hurry to stop. MadScientist from Düsseldorf, Germany> check out the specs on the new Nikon D700 1 Jul 2008 9:20pm @MadScientist: I want a wide angle lens but I also want a telephoto. I'll probably get the 70-300 Nikon VR first, but I'm also consider a Tamron 500mm --that's almost 800mm in 35mm film terms. So, yeah, camera body is a much lower priority. Also, as a huge movie buff, I'm afraid a 1080p projector will have to come before another camera. sherri from Little Rock, Arkansas, United StatesI like this greyscale version. Neat old truck and the saturation is wonderful. 1 Jul 2008 10:10pm @sherri: Thanks. @David (12 years old): Thank you for looking and commenting. Persian King from Tehran, IranMighty even after all those years. I believe this is one of those MAC trucks, they look like SUV's for giants 2 Jul 2008 3:56am bluechameleon from Vancouver, CanadaSuch strong b&w tones. I love the larger than life feel here. Like the life of this truck could go on forever! 2 Jul 2008 4:55am @bluechameleon: I struggled with the B&W conversion and still don't feel I got exactly what I wanted --but I did get what I could accept. I haven't done it enough to sense whether it's my conversion or the ambient lighting. Stewart Bywater from Peterborough, United KingdomNice composition. Great exposure and conversion! 27 Jul 2008 8:15pm Vink from Côte d'Azur- French riviera, FranceSuperb treatment for a beautiful truck ! 27 Aug 2008 5:34pm Peter from Amsterdam, NetherlandsNice subject, great lightning. The dodging gives it a silverhalide-based look. For the conversion from color tot B&W, did you try some duo-toning? 16 Mar 2009 10:18pm @Peter: Don't remember exactly what I did, but don't think I did any duo-toning. I believe I did a pseudo-hdr conversion in color and then used one of the B&W conversion filters in Photoshop Elements 5. |
