MadScientist from Düsseldorf, GermanyGreat light and colours here! 11 Jul 2008 10:49am @MadScientist: Well, I think the words are intended to be read separately, but I suspect you know that. Johnnyanne from Layton, UT, United StatesGreat colors. I especially like your use of shadows in this photo. Well done. 11 Jul 2008 12:33pm @Johnnyanne: Thank you. Sammi from New Jersey, United StatesDo you like sushi, Twelvebit? I love the lighting on your picture, good capture. 11 Jul 2008 7:35pm @Sammi: Thanks. I've never tired sushi. I think I'd be more inclined to try it in Japan than to try imitation sushi in the US. danthro from Suburbia, United Stateslove how you captured the light that's filtering through a tree on the building. great composition too. just the cloud on the left bothers me some, the tones are so dark it looks weird to me 11 Jul 2008 9:09pm @danthro: Dark? You mean the midtones? I don't recall any stacking toward the shadow end of the histogram. And there are essentially no blacks. The darkest part of the image is under the awning and I made sure to keep the detail there. What kind of computer are you using? Mac? PC? What gamma is your monitor set to? My monitor is calibrated with a Spyder Pro 2, but of course, if you're looking at a calibrated monitor, it may just be a difference in taste. sherri from Little Rock, Arkansas, United StatesBeautiful light sprinkled across vivid colors. A wonderful image. 11 Jul 2008 10:02pm Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomGreat light and color. The mind boggles at the thought of the discussion :D 12 Jul 2008 12:01am @Ron: Thank you. Daryl from Amagasaki, JapanLike the vivid yet limited colours. Sushi and 'modern dance' apparently...? What's the story there?! 12 Jul 2008 3:03pm @Daryl: Modern dance? Is that what the kanji says? I don't actually know anything about the place, I was just walking by and liked the play of light and shadow with the blue color. Persian King from Tehran, Iran"Nihongo Hanasemska"? I really love it, written in "Hiragana" in blue, great composition 15 Jul 2008 1:46am Daryl from Amagasaki, JapanThe Japanese writing is katakana, often used for words from other languages. It says 'modern dance' ... a mystery for you to investigate for us Twelvebit! 15 Jul 2008 2:25am |
