@Shawna: I don't get by this way all that often, but when I have, and he's around, it's not unusual to see him posing for any number of people. This day I saw him pose for maybe ten different couples, but I haven't had enough contact with him to know what reactions to expect. Awhile back he was given a camera by some local publication --I don't remember the name-- and asked to create some self-portraits --which he did-- so he's not camera shy.

@lisa v: I don't really know. Could be "falsies" I suppose --they have some pretty realistic ones available these days.

@MadScientist: That's a new one on me --guess I'm not the hipster I used to be.

@clarence: He wasn't asking anyone for money, nor was he keeping a low-profile --as the photos attest-- so I tend to agree with your assessment.

@Melissa W.: Not really, there was a lot going on at the time. Pretty much amounted to me telling him I wasn't taking photos for the Church and asking if he minded me taking his photo --for which he struck a couple of quick poses.

He obviously didn't care much for the preachers and they just as obviously didn't care much for him. Some people can't accept the notion that people who are different from themselves are not inherently bad or "evil."

@dj.tigersprout: Not sure what he was signaling --could be the "hook 'em horns" sign for the UT football team.

@Illuci: I suppose he would like to be called "he" otherwise he wouldn't have a beard.

I don't know, it didn't come up, but he's obviously not trying to "pass."

I find it difficult to follow people such as the preaching people in their thoughts.

Me too. My own view is that people develop their prejudices independently, due to a number of social and environmental factors, and then seek out a comforting dogma, be it religious or political, that allows them to feel their prejudices are justified.

@Mr Jintro: Thanks. I'm a fan of street photography and Nitsa is one of my favorite street photographers. You echo what she says here under the entry "Photos That Sell" --you have to scroll down a way.

@Persian King: I don't know the answer to your question.

@danthro: That was pretty off-the-wall I thought; but then, maybe he's had people from the church taking his photos before, and has a basis for making that assumption. I have no idea. People tend to make assumptions based on expectations, not evidence. So, for example, it might amuse you to learn that many people, learning that my kids are/were homeschooled, automatically assume that I'm deeply religious. Secularly oriented people and people on the left no doubt assume I must be a religious zealot and the Christian right assumes I'm one of them. Owning guns leads to similar assumptions. Most people on the left can't conceive of anyone but cops and right-wingers using guns; and those on the right think lefties are all dope smoking pacifists and hippies and only those on the right have guns. I virtually never attempt to undo any such confusion.

@Sandy: I find him a little disconcerting in that regard. I can better understand the impulse of a man trying to look like a woman than someone in between. Maybe the psychology here --aside from the attention aspects-- is the absence of any strong sexual identity?

@JoeB: Therein lies a problem: I wouldn't know how to go about it. Now, with the figure wearing heels in the "Broad Destruction" photo I might be willing to give it the ole' college try --but you haven't expressed any interest in that reality --I think you've just made an assumption in that case.

@John Maslowski: Thanks. There are some beautiful and inspiration shots on your website. You make me realize that I need to get out and take more night shots.

@Zorilla: I know the movie. Don't think Leslie had a bet to win, but I won't speculate on his motives.
