Laughing Gull

@gbe: If the bird is something like a Cardinal or a Bluejay, I can tell, but I've yet to learn how to tell the sex of a gull.

@bm: I haven't used it much yet so it's too early to tell. I can see already that the VR has increased my yield of usable shots, but I don't think I've used it enough yet to know how to get the best from it. The VR is supposed to give you +2 stops, but again, at this point, I've only taken about 30 photos with it.

@sherri: Looks like a yawn, but he was actually squawking rather loudly --calling perhaps.

@JoeB: Actually, the mockingbird is the state bird of Texas. GWB might have given the game away on this except that he's not really from Texas.

@dj.tigersprout: Actually, squawking or calling quite loudly --though the noise made may be why they're calling laughing gulls.

@Ronnie 2¢: It's supposed to be, but my personal verdict isn't in yet. I can see already though that the VR has increased my yield of usable images.

@danthro: Neither, actually. He was squawking quite loudly, but I agree it looks more like a yawn than a laugh.
