Submarine Leaving Port, New London

@MadScientist: Well, at the time, I was a submarine officer. If I remember the negative here was a dupe from a color transparency.

@Ronnie 2¢: I'd like to scan all my old film images but most of them probably aren't worth the effort. However, I am slowly working at scanning the ones I like, and the ones with sentimental value. It's funny how you see them differently after the years have passed.

@danthro: Now that you mention it, you got me thinking of the movie "On the Beach."

@Persian King: Hey, how could I take the photo if I was in the sub? But to answer your question, I was an officer in the Navy, qualified in submarines, and the subs at this base were not secret --at least from the outside. The sub base at Groton is on a river and visible from many different places, including the opposite side of the river.
