Ferry Landing

Not for the kind with wings. Another film scan --from the 80's I think. Sometimes you remember snapping the shutter on a scene, something palpable about the place, the occasion of your being there, what you saw in the frame before you, where you were going, or where you were coming from --and sometimes all those things. I don't even remember taking this one. If I'd seen it posted or printed somewhere before finding it in my negatives, between other images I do remember, I would never have guessed it to be my own photo. Such is memory. Oh yeah, I think this is the ferry at Port Aransas.

Love the 'Fun in the Sun' sign... This is like a childhood memory... waking from sleeping in the back seat, a half glimpsed, half remembered look out the window... 'where are we?'... before drifting off again...

I love these old snaps from yesteryear, splendid grainy image, nice flood to reflect the signs.

@Observing: I'm amazed at how prominent the film grain is in these scans. This is giving me something to look for when I see a HD DVD of an older movie --depending, of course, on how it was shot. The studios have been destroying the grain structure of some HD releases in order to cater to the expectations of those know images only from digital sources.

I like the refections in the water and the mood that the fog creates. It reminds me of scene from the movie "Bridges of Madison County".

I love the 80's feeling of this one, the cars, the fog, the gray day and the granny image... It's really evocative and for some reason remains me the good days photography of an Scorsese film !! Great job !
