gbe from kansas city, United Statesthe light on the gauges, and the pipes, and then on the ladder in the distance...it keeps me looking and looking. 28 Sep 2008 5:46am @gbe: The gauges overbalanced the image and I had to bring them down some. I think this was a Tri-X shot --didn't check when I scanned the negative-- but I added some tinting in PS. @Daryl: These older plants had sort of a closed-in labyrinthine design. Newer plants are much more open. MadScientist from Düsseldorf, GermanyVery cool 'Metropolis' moment here... I like it. 28 Sep 2008 11:32am @MadScientist: Now that you mention it, this plant was probably designed when Metropolis was a memory for some of the designers. I suppose you've heard that they found a complete print of Metropolis in South America, with footage that had been assumed lost forever? Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomHellish, hot and dangerous, a real vivid and realistic image. Great shot. 28 Sep 2008 4:24pm @Observing: It would have been when the plant was in operation, but when I was taking these photos it was already becoming a relic. alex centrella from California, United Statesgreat shot, i like the toning on this, it fits the image well, also you have a great portfolio of work. 28 Sep 2008 5:59pm @alex centrella: Thank you. And so do you. Ronnie 2¢ from London, United KingdomThis is highly impressive . . would make a great movie location complete with hissing sound effects! Great toning, too! 28 Sep 2008 9:59pm @Ronnie 2¢: Thanks. They might have demolished by now. I haven't been around there in years. MadScientist from Düsseldorf, GermanyI suppose you've heard that they found a complete print of Metropolis in South America 28 Sep 2008 10:49pm @MadScientist: Back in July. You can probably find something about it if you look, but here's a start. sherri from Little Rock, Arkansas, United StatesOooo....I really like this. Love all those dials and your color is superb. 29 Sep 2008 5:01am @Zorilla: Simpson, Sir. One of your chair moisteners from Sector 7G. bluechameleon from Vancouver, CanadaI like this gritty feel, the clocks lined up against the wall give it a surreal feel. Your work is so amazing! 1 Oct 2008 3:46am @bluechameleon: They're actually not clocks, but gauges --mostly pressure gauges. dj.tigersprout from San Bruno, CA, United Statesvery intriguing and 'gritty' is an excellent work as a description -- those clock faces are captivating -- i feel like something is about to happen! 1 Oct 2008 11:52pm @dj.tigersprout: Thanks. They're actually not clocks, but gauges --mostly pressure gauges. danthro from Suburbia, United Stateslove the old, gritty, industrial look to this place 3 Oct 2008 5:38am |
