Country RoadPosted by Twelvebit (Victoria, United States) on 20 October 2008 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. I thought about calling this Redneck Road, in the sense of the joke that goes: you may be a Redneck if the directions to your house include the words "turn off the paved road."

Giovanni from Milan, ItalyBeautiful b/w shot! Love the perspective and the framing. Well done! 20 Oct 2008 7:37am @Giovanni: Thank you. Ronnie 2¢ from London, United KingdomI can imagine a similar view over the crest . . and the next one . . lovely freedom feel to this. 20 Oct 2008 11:25am Amir from Tehran, IranAwesome endless road to infinity. I don't know about the colored version, but this black and white is really perfect choice for such an image 20 Oct 2008 1:06pm @Amir: I started in color, of course, but once I tried the b&w it was obvious to me that it was the better choice. MadScientist from Düsseldorf, GermanyLooks like a very nice place. Would take my bike to there. 20 Oct 2008 3:55pm @lisa v: I'm not sure an Aussie can be a Redneck but maybe I've seen too much Crocodile Dundee. Here's a Redneck test for you though. See if any of these hit home. You Might Be A Redneck If . . . . . . you can’t visit relatives without getting mud on your tires. JoeB from Brampton, CanadaThe endless road, this is the type of road where you think I'll just go a little farther to see what's over the hill... then you run into W, then you regret that you went too far. 21 Oct 2008 12:24am @JoeB: W is about a four hour drive north from here, but yeah, you might run into some of his buddies. I sort of detest the guy, but you know what? The prospect of a McCain/Palin victory has me thinking maybe ole' W isn't so bad. If we do get McCain and Caribou Barbie, we may be look back on W's reign with a fond nostalgia for those golden years when we still had electricity and running water and you could still go outside without dying from the radiation. In fact, when I think about it, if the choice had to be between a McCain presidency and a coup that keeps W in office, I think I'd choose W. Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomA real country road, did you find out where it went..? 21 Oct 2008 1:24am @Observing: We're considering a movie to the country and we were out driving around looking for a country place before the collapse --where we can grow our own food and fight off the starving masses from the cities (well, I hope it doesn't become that dire, but we'd be considering a move to the country even if we expected a wonderful future). This was a very long unpaved road off a state highway. It's a nice location but too far from work (and a job is not yet irrelevant). sherri from Little Rock, Arkansas, United StatesSuch a beautiful and inviting road. 21 Oct 2008 4:26pm @sherri: We're considering a move to the country before the collapse so we were out driving around looking for a country place. danthro from Suburbia, United Statesthat looks like a beautiful place. like how you captured the light and shadows 22 Oct 2008 6:20pm @danthro: We were out driving around looking for a country place. dj.tigersprout from San Bruno, CA, United Statesthis is wonderful -- excellent detail and tones!! and what a gorgeous view!! 22 Oct 2008 10:43pm @dj.tigersprout: One of the few I've printed.
