Ladies First

It's said that a buck sends his doe out ahead of him to make sure it's safe to travel. And that looked to me like what was happening here.

@MadScientist: May look that way here, but actually, they both came to the edge of the clearing, he waited, and she went forward, walking and trotting. Then he followed, taking his time, stopping from time to time to look around.
