Turtles, Blue Heron, and Alligators

Aransas National Wildlife Refuge

I didn't realize it was a pile of turtles next to the heron until I got home and saw the images on the computer. And those bumps in the water are alligators.

How cool! Can't believe you got this wonderful shot without really realising it!!! Little turtles, Heron and Alligators all in the same image! Bravo:-)

@Linerberry: I was testing my telephoto lens. Had the camera on a tripod and was mechanically going through different aperture and shutter speed combination's using a remote release.

@MadScientist: Yes, I was actually testing the lens and working through the range of apertures using a remote release. As a result I have a very interesting series of a deer walking into the frame and the turtles dispersing but it would only work as something like an animated gif.
