bluechameleon from Vancouver, CanadaInteresting the things people keep in their yards. I like this...lots of detail here. 8 Feb 2009 6:04am @bluechameleon: It's a function of entropy. @dang: Not sure, but I think the house. Of course, both is also possible. For instance, the RV may be a mother-in-law "house." Julian Kilsby from Birmingham, United KingdomAll the detail in this shot speaks volumes. 8 Feb 2009 2:32pm @Daryl: A long time ago I mentioned to you that shots like this are plentiful here. I just snapped this on the spur of the moment. @Elena Kotrotsou: Thank you. JoeB from Brampton, CanadaOh yea what is affectionally called the redneck yard, we got a few around here. They might look messy but they make great shots. 8 Feb 2009 6:53pm @JoeB: I feel a little cultural expropriation here. I'm not convinced a Canadian can be a redneck, and a real American redneck would never move up to Canada. grant from kansas city, United Stateseverything you could possible need right at hand! i like it. 8 Feb 2009 10:17pm @grant: Not one of those shots you want to spend a lot of time working and shooting from different perspectives though. Ronnie 2¢ from London, United KingdomLooks like a good place to start . . sometimes, you can sum up a place just with a glance . . other places, they say nothing. 9 Feb 2009 1:42am Linerberry from Sumner, Christchurch, New ZealandI love this shot!! Incredible old bus! 9 Feb 2009 6:03am @Linerberry: Strictly speaking, it's what we'd call an RV --recreational vehicle-- and you'd probably despair at the cost of making it operable with a modicum of reliability. We sort of inherited something like it and we despaired. They say a boat is a hole in the ocean you throw money into so I guess an RV like this would be a hole in the road. lisa v from Gawler, AustraliaI want that house. Americans know how to build nice lookin' houses. 9 Feb 2009 10:05pm @lisa v: If you saw it from the front you'd like it even better. Would be a pretty nice place if it was kept up. MadScientist from Düsseldorf, GermanyThis caravan is parking there for a looong time. Interesting, over here we're having garden goblins. :-) 9 Feb 2009 10:50pm @MadScientist: Probably doesn't run. We don't use the term "caravan" here --we call them "RV's" for recreational vehicles. dang from Atlanta, United StatesGood possibility, but from the state of things, I'd guess it's a "left over" from better days. ;-) 10 Feb 2009 1:29am JoeB from Brampton, CanadaI might have hit a national nerve, my intention was never to steal such an important part of American culture, I should have used trailer park or some similar term. And your right the only way an American redneck would move up here is if he missed his turn and kept driving north. 10 Feb 2009 2:29am @JoeB: I think American's own the term "trailer park trash" as well, so don't go getting any ideas. Barbara from Florida, United StatesI really like this shot. Yes, there is a lot of detail but what a story. Pack rats! A little of everything where they last used it, kept there just in case they need it again. 10 Feb 2009 4:45am @Barbara: Thanks. I'm not letting JoeB claim the term "trailer park trash" for Canadians either. JoeB from Brampton, CanadaUnder The North American Free Trade Agreement the flow of goods was opened between our countries in 1989. That's why we have such American owned corporations like WalMart where we can buy all the goods that are made in China, Uh? never mind that. The point is that you and Barbara are not aware that we have a Canadian TV show called "Trailer Park Boys" so under the NAFTA we own the intellectual property to trailer park trash and such derivatives. 11 Feb 2009 12:42am @JoeB: Yeah, but is that actually derivative of trailer park trash? Or the US TV show trailer park that was on TV here four years before your Trailer Park Boys? I am willing to concede you SCTV and the Great White North. Barbara from Florida, United StatesI must add here that I have been to Canada hundreds of times. My mother was born and raised there. Truthfully I have never even seen a trailer park in Canada. Trailers and trash may exist in Canada but from my experience trailer trash and rednecks stop at the border. ; ) 11 Feb 2009 2:20pm |
