@Daryl: There was a Pizza Hut looming over this site and it was difficult to get an image without its ugly visage in the frame.

What an amazing looking place, the mortar look like someone has been along and drawn it on with chalk. Like the tone and grain used in this. UK motels are nothing like this!!

@Craig@Random Ramblings: I think it would also be fair to say US motels are nothing like this. I don't know the history but I imagine this was an independent operation born in the 50's or 60's. It's hard to imagine someone building a non-chain hotel of any kind these days.
