@Philip: Yes, a female. I see many more of the males than I do the females, or perhaps it just seems that way because the males are so much more obvious in appearance.

@Ronnie 2¢: You're not talking about some other kinds of "birds" too, are you?

@grant: I did, sort of, by making local adjustments in Capture NX.
