I bet that would be one creepy place to break into and wander around in the middle of the night.

@Mike: I told my wife several times how much I'd love to get inside. But I'm sort of a chicken. I'm not worried about any physical danger, but I am worried about: 1) getting caught by ole' Bill and having my camera confiscated; and/or 2) being charged with trespassing. But there's an even better abandoned hospital in Yorktown --where I took yesterday's photo. If I lived in either place and knew the "lay of the land," so to speak, I might give it a go.
Abandoned hospitals, urban exploration - a thrilling hobby. I notice some suspense here.

If a new hospital didn't take its place then this is a real waste.

@JoeB: No new hospital. Many of the pricey homes in town up for sale. Sort of like Ringling, Texas, if you're familiar with Jimmy Buffett --it's a dying little town (though still far more vibrant that these lyrics):
Ringling, ringling, slippin' away
Only forty people livin' there today
Streets are dusty and the bank has been torn down
It's a dyin' little town
"getting caught by ole' Bill and having my camera confiscated" - the real fun starts at night (and with a chap camera) :-)

@MadScientist: Yes, I have some urban exploration sites bookmarked, and I know that night time excursions with cheap equipment is the standard practice. Still, I'd want to "case" the place first, and make an assessment of what I might run into. Around here, mostly from the standpoint of avoiding being caught --though I've read of some rather harrowing experiences in some of the bigger urban centers.
