@MadScientist: The only photoshop operations were cropping (original image was wider and taller), converting to b&w, and applying the orton effect (bottom layer blurred, top layer normal, both layers set to "multiply"). and then a shadow/highlight adjustment to compensate for the density added in the orton process.
