The exif data should actually read 900mm, as this was taken at 300mm with a 2x teleconverter. I've gotten a lot of unsatisfactory shots with this lens combination, but while this shot is a little soft, as you might expect with a cheapo 2x teleconverter, it seems to indicate that the unacceptable images are the result of inadequate technique.
