A really strange appearance, I would expect such cows in India. Are they peaceful or should I better duck and cover?

@MadScientist: I don't think they're particularly hostile, but from what I hear ranchers say, cattle are dangerous merely because of their size, even to people who have been around them all their lives, and know what to expect.

@Vivek Thakyal: Thank you. I found it a little difficult to post a comment on your blog, but was going to leave a comment about the fine portraits with the 50mm f1.4 lens --my favorite (though I have the slower 1.8 version).
